eSTOR Solid State Heat Stores
PhaseStore eStors are a totally different way to store hot water, which has many advantages. They are far smaller, lose less heat, are easier to install, require less parts, and need less maintenance than traditional water cylinders.
They do this by using a phase-change material (PCM) instead of hot water to store heat. Phase-change is what happens when, for instance, a solid turns to a liquid, or a liquid turns to a gas. For some materials the energy required to make that change is high, and eStor makes use of that, they turn a solid to a liquid, and in doing so store up heat that can be put to use by extracting the heat again, which turns the liquid back to a solid again.
Think how long it takes to boil a pan of water dry. It quickly reaches a boil, but then takes 5-6 times longer to boil away. That’s because it takes a lot of energy to turn water from a liquid to a gas.
Unlike other phase change products on the market eStor uses a 100% plant based and food safe PCM so there is no risk of water contamination in the unlikely event of a leak
eStor is a thermal battery, you are storing heat in the PCM, not hot water. Mains pressure cold water is heated as it passes through a coil inside the eStor, (rather like a combi boiler), and as a result there is no stored hot water greatly reducing the risk of contaminants such as legionella in the system.

- Hot water supplied at 45°-60°C
- Suitable for heat sources with flow temperatures between 55°-80°C
- Low heat loss, 0.65, 0.74, 0.83 kWh/24hrs respectively.
- Sizes: 6, 10, and 12kW - the equivalent of a 150, 200, and 300 lt water cylinder.
