Wood Pellet Boilers

A pellet boiler is an automated boiler that provides hot water for heating and showers. They work in much the same way as an oil or gas boiler, coming on automatically as needed, and adjusting their output depending on how much heat is required.

Wood pellet boilers are very well suited to older homes, and it is often a fairly simple process to swap an oil boiler for a pellet boiler. Wood pellet boilers supply water at high temperatures and so this means that it is usually not necessary to make large changes to the existing heating system, so installation is quick and less disruptive.

You will need somewhere to store the wood pellets - for instance a garage. You either get them delivered as bags by the tonne on a pallet, or you can install a dedicated fuel hopper which is filled by a truck with a pipe. The advantage of having a hopper is you can then also set up an feed to the boiler so that it is automatically supplied, instead of you having to manually fill the on-board hopper every so often.

At Firepower we have been supplying and supporting wood pellet heating systems for over 20yrs, and so you benefit from our experience, for example having encountered and then solved many potential issues along the way.
