AUX R290 air source heat pumps
More than just heat pumps; we supply and support complete heating systems.
A heat pump that performs well is about much more than just selecting the right unit. Hydraulic design, controls, component selection and commissioning all have a far greater influence on efficiency, reliability and a good outcome for the homeowner.
That's why we supply complete engineered heat pump packages that reduce installation time, simplify commissioning and deliver reliable long-term performance.
Some installers come to us with a complete specification list. Others ask us to start with a heat loss calculation and develop the system from there together with them. We're happy to support either approach, working alongside you to achieve the best possible outcome.
Whether it's your first heat pump installation or your hundredth, our team is available to help.
Why choose the AUX R290 range?
The AUX R290 monobloc range combines high performance with streamlined installation. They are available in outputs from 4kW to 16kW, making them suitable for everything from well-insulated new builds through to larger retrofit properties.
Aux air source heat pumps are backed by a generous 10 year warranty which covers parts and labour.
- 10-year parts and labour warranty
- Models from 4kW to 16kW - all single-fan
- Natural R290 refrigerant
- MCS listed and Boiler Upgrade Scheme eligible
- No glycol or external antifreeze valves required for the warranty
- Single-fan design across the entire range
- Compatible with Adia and Passiv smart controls
- Provides heating, cooling and domestic hot water
- Quiet operation
A complete installation package
Rather than supplying just a heat pump, we generally provide complete engineered system packages that are designed to work together. A typical package includes:
- AUX heat pump - reliable, efficient heating and cooling, backed by an excellent guarantee
- LK high Kvs diverter valve - high flow capacity and exceptional long-term reliability. Do it once. Do it right.
- Adia or Passiv smart controller - automatically optimises system performance and simplifies commissioning
- Magnetic filter - protects heat exchangers from dirt and debris
- Pre-insulated flexible pipe - a single continuous insulated connection between outdoors and indoors, reducing heat loss, speeding installation and leaving a cleaner finished job
We can also specify and supply heat pump cylinders, volumisers and other hydraulic components as appropriate.
Technical support
Heat pumps are becoming easier to install, it's designing the heating system it connects to that requires effort and experience.
Our team regularly supports installers with: heat loss calculations, heat pump sizing, hydraulic design, component selection, controls configuration, fault diagnosis, commissioning advice.
For installers new to AUX we also provide enhanced support in conjunction with AUX for your first installation, helping you become quickly familiar with the range.
Our heating system design philosophy
Every installation is different, so there are always exceptions. However, these principles guide the way we design most heat pump systems (these apply to any low temperature heating system really):
- Keep systems as simple as possible, but no simpler.
- Avoid specifying kit that's not needed - lower cost, lower environmental impact, better performance
- Avoid unnecessary hydraulic separation by favouring open-zone systems where appropriate - better performance.
- Avoid glycol wherever practical - better performance, lower cost.
- Use volumisers where system volume / defrost requires them - better performance.
- Specify key premium components to improve reliability and performance - less callbacks = lower cost.
- Select controls that optimise seasonal performance while reducing installation time and disruption.
- Support every installer with practical, engineering-led advice.
Simple systems are generally easier to install, easier to commission, easier to understand and easier to maintain.
Our primary focus is supporting heating professionals.
If you're an installer looking for a dependable heat pump backed by practical engineering support, we'd be delighted to work with you.
If you're a homeowner, we're equally happy to discuss your project, help determine whether an AUX heat pump is the right solution for your home and, where appropriate, introduce you to an experienced installer from our network.
