Simple Installation
Installation is kept simple with two pipes and one comms cable to run inside. The pcb and electrical connections are then all done indoors (in the dry!), with a clean wiring run to the outdoor unit.
R290 Future-Proof
Heat pumps must use refrigerants with low GWP (Global Warming Potential) from 2027. Spares and support for heat pumps using other refrigerants will likely become more expensive over time, so that is why most installers and homeowners are already choosing R290 ahead of schedule. Why wait?
In addition R290 allows for higher running temperatures and that can give extra flexibility. We design to low maximum flow temperatures by default because that's key to low running costs, so we only use this higher temperature capability to make use of time-of-use electricity tariffs, by storing up hotter water when electricity is cheap.
