MCS stands for Microgeneration Certification Scheme. This is a standard which ensures the quality and consistency of various renewable energy products, such as biomass boilers, solar panels, etc., as well as the quality and reliability of installation companies.

To qualify for the generous RHI grant scheme, wood-pellet boilers must be MCS-accredited, as must the installation company.
