Why Design Matters
A well-designed heating system:
- Performs better
- Costs less to run
- Requires fewer materials
- Takes less labour
- Is a better fit for your property and your lifestyle
That’s why getting the design right from the outset is so valuable - and why we’re here to help.
We make our living by supplying and supporting renewable heating equipment to the trade. Our aim is to provide warm comfortable homes, that have reasonable running costs, heating systems that are the right size which limits material and labour costs, all leading to a reduction in carbon emissions as well. Having been in this industry a long time we know that we need to deliver on these aims, not just because that’s the right thing to do, but it’s also in our long term interests because content customers are an excellent type of marketing!
Our 2-Step Service
Option 1: Free Heating Report and Initial Discussion
What's included:
- Whole-house heat loss report
- Review of your existing heating system
- Talk through what you want and need
- Discuss feasible renewable options
- Q&A with one of our experts
- Introductions to trusted installers
- General installation schematics Guidance, support, and liaison for you and the installer
This first step helps identify what your home actually needs, and what it is likely will, and (perhaps more importantly) what will not, work - before spending time or money on quotes or equipment. Our guided Supply & Support service then lets the installer make the most of their expertise, with the reassurance of us there for support and liaison if, and when, needed.
You can easily choose to expand on this once done to add on our paid for, and more in depth, service.
Option 2: Detailed Calcs and Outline Design
We take a detailed look at each room to calculate more precise heat loss values - which lets us know the right size of heating appliance needed, and how big the radiators or underfloor heating loops in each room need to be. Room-by-room calcs are critical if you're intending to apply for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) or working with an MCS-certified installer.
We can give access to your installer so they can collaborate in the design software we use, so our calculations are a first step which your installer can then add finesse to and build on after they have come for a site visit.
What you get:
- Accurate room-by-room heat loss report
- Target maximum system temperatures to achieve low running costs
- Heating appliance and hot water cylinder sizing recommendations
- System volume recommendations to achieve low running costs
- Foundation for your installer’s detailed heating system design
- Suitable for your installer to use as groundwork for submission for grants (e.g., BUS)
- A clear path ahead for your low carbon, reliable heating system.
Option 3: For larger properties and more in depth Design
Option 3 includes everything from Option 2 and is for larger properties over 200 square meters floor area, and/or if you want extra advice like our recommended maximum flow temperatures for the heating system, floor covering suggestions for underfloor heating, advice on control strategies.
Wherever you are in your project, our design team is here to help you make smart, cost-effective decisions about your renewable heating system.
