Heating Design & Consultancy

We offer heating system design and consultancy as a service, because getting it done right from the start reduces hassle, and saves time and money. We are focused on you ending up with a solution that's right for you, that works effectively and efficiently, leaving you with a warm, comfortable home.

This service is helpful and supportive for homeowners, architects, contractors, and installers.  

Getting the design right from the start can potentially save money by cutting out unnecessary parts, materials (as well as avoiding the labour to install them), and by delivering reasonable running costs.    

There are 3 main options;

Option 1 - Initial Discussion; whole house heat loss estimate, talk about what will be feasible and suitable. Free. 

Option 2 - Room-by-room Calc: all of the above, and add in a more accurate room-by-room heat loss calculation, with resultant pdf report. This report can then be used by the installer if you proceed. Starting at £150 for homes up to 100m². 

Option 3 - Heating System Design: having chosen option 2 this then adds on more detailed heating system design - sizing of pipes and radiator/underfloor sizing for efficient operation. Starting at £150 for homes up to 100m². 

Option 1 - Initial Discussion

An initial chat with one of our team is free, and we are keen for you to make use of this and to contact us. You can ask us to do a whole-house heat load estimate - which then lets us show what size of renewable heating appliance your home needs. We can discuss your existing system, what you want and expect from a heating system, which renewable heating solutions would be suitable for you, and go over your questions around it all. 

At this point we can introduce you to a local installer to take things further, or you may already have an installer in mind, in which case we work with them to proceed.    

Option 2 - Room-by-room Calc

We can also do a more complex room-by-room calculation. This is MCS-compliant and is helpful as it will be needed if you end up applying for the BUS grant with your installer anyway. This gives an accurate total heat loss, plus, knowing how much heat each room needs allows us (or your installer) to then work on designing the actual heating system. 

The room-by-room calculation starts at £150 for homes up to 100m² - we will need plans and details of the building make-up. 

Option 3 - Heating System Design

Heating system design - we can tag this on once the room-by-room calculation has been done. A simple plant room design is included as part of our standard support that we provide to the installer, but if you want us to give more detailed recommendations like pipe sizing, pump sizing, and advice on radiator sizes and underfloor heating loops then that is when it becomes chargeable, £150 for homes up to 100m².
