Expansion vessels for thermal stores

Expansion vessels take up the expansion of water as it heats up in a sealed, or pressurised, central heating system. Small expansion vessels are readily available from plumbers merchants but here we offer high volume expansion vessels suited, for example, for use with systems incorporating thermal stores. We can supply a complete range of expansion tanks to meet your requirements.

Flamco are focused on quality and technical support which is why we offer their expansion vessels. They have three main lines of expansion vessels for heating systems, we offer the mid-range Contraflex, and premium Flexcon versions. Contraflex vessels come with a 5 year warranty as standard, whereas with Flexcon this extends to 15 years. All are factory tested before leaving the facility, and are precharged with Nitrogen to increase the length of time that the precharge gas remains in place.

Heating expansion vessels should be checked as part of the yearly service. The precharge pressure needs testing as part of this, and recharging will be necessary step as some of the gas will have escaped into the heating system. This is required for every expansion vessel, but unfortunately is often overlooked.
