Renewable Heat Incentive
RHI stands for the Renewable Heat Incentive and is a government scheme designed to promote renewable energy uptake. The biomass boiler must be MCS-certified and eligible for the RHI grant scheme - which most of our Klover wood pellet boilers are. The boiler should also be supplied and installed through an MCS-registered installer.
We only supply Klover pellet boilers through our network of MCS-registered local dealers and installers.
The Domestic RHI is now in full swing and with generous payments over seven years, now is the time to take advantage of it. The payments are based on the calculated heat usage of your house (from the EPC rating). Typically, over the seven years the payments would usually cover the cost of the pellet boiler and installation with some to spare.
As a business user you can benefit from generous payments per kilowatt hour of heat produced. For a biomass boiler the payments should cover the yearly cost of the pellets, give or take. The boiler must be MCS-certified and be installed and supplied through an MCS-registered installer. Additionally the heat must be supplied to a business OR to two properties or more.
Under the commercial scheme you may also sell the heat to other properties, so this is an additional potential income stream.
